Fanfic Forum
By Molly
Welcome to the Fanfic Forum--this is
the place where FOLCs can discuss fanfic, and maybe even post some of their own!
This month, we have...
The 10 Best Fanfics of 1997!
1997 was a great year
for fanfic. With several groups of FOLCs starting their own "fifth seasons", to
individual's fanfic--I have enjoyed reading everything. But these fanfic are all
on the Fanfic Archive (http://www.win.net/~lcw/fanfic), and they all came out in
1997. It was a tough decision on some of them, but the winners are...
"Journey's End" by Lori McElhaney.
"Laney and the
Giant Killers" by Susan Stone.
"That The World May Know" by Rachel
Smith.
"The Paradox of a Failure" by Gary A. Rudick.
"Wherefore Art Thou?"
by Kathryn Picson.
"Continuity" by Chm25.
"Heaven's Prisoners" by Demi.
"Meet Me In Kansas City" by Chris
Mulder.
"A Touch From Beyond" by Corrie Hurst.
And my choice for the
funniest (ROFL fanfic) is..."Face/Off"! by Susan VanCott.
If you would like to read any of these fanfics, please
visit Lois &
Clark Fanfiction!
If there's a fanfic from 1997 that you think was super, and deserves a mention in the
next newsletter, please e-mail me at lovelc@aol.com, along with the name of the
fanfic, the author, and where that fanfic can be found (Fanfic Archive? A
personal web page?) Thanks!:)
Please send all of YOUR fanfic that you
would like to share to lovelc@aol.com. If it
is OK to put it in the newsletter or on the web page, please say so!

Tomorrow Never
Dies
Thanks, SCarano590, for
sending us a great review of Tomorrow Never Dies!
***This review
contains "spoilers"--in other words, the author reveals some movie plots, so if
you don't want to know what happens in the movie, skip over the section we tell
you to skip over, OK? :)***
***************************
OK Here's the deal. I
went with 5 of my "non L&C fans" friends to see Tomorrow Never Dies on
opening night of the film. They all complained about going because for some
reason I'll never understand, they are not Teri Hatcher fanatics. I, on the
other hand, think she is outstanding.
IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS
IN THE MOVIE, SCROLL DOWN TO THE NEXT PARAGRAPH
<<spoiler warning>>
The role of Eliott Carver's wife - Paris - does not give
Teri much to work with. However, she is the only woman James ever really, really
loves. About a half an hour into the film, Paris' evil husband finds out about
her relationship with James and orders her death. James Bond does not manage to
save her life. Needless to say, I was pissed! I paid 6 bucks to see the best
female actress ever die?! I don't get it. My friends wanted to leave once she
died - but I insisted she was not really dead and soon Dean Cain would come
flying to her rescue. Once again, I was pissed.
<
U CAN ALL READ THIS NOW
Teri Hatcher is the greatest
actress ever to live. I believe her work in this film will cause a stunning
uprise to her career. We need to make her know that we were there from the
beginning. Even before Lois and Clark (at least some of us). I sincerely hope
she is known not only for this film, but for 'Lois Lane' as well. I give this
film 3 (out of 2) thumbs up, way, way up!
CONGRATULATIONS TERI, ON A JOB
WELL DONE!!! ~KC da#1fan Kerrigan~

L&C Merchandise Directory, 1998!

So you're obsessed with Lois & Clark? Well, *any* fan
needs merchandise! And despite popular belief, there really is a lot of L&C
stuff out there. Here are some links to web pages where you can order L&C
stuff! Items with a * by them mean that I, personally, have bought stuff from them and can say
that I don't think they'll take your money and run. But with the others, you
might have to take your chances. Just use common sense! :o)
*Lois & Clark
calendar--1998 Superman
Calendar. This is a really nice calendar. It's made by a U.K.-based company,
so it may take a week or two to come.
Lois & Clark T-Shirt
& Sweatshirt. I haven't bought one from this company, but I have the
T-shirt and the sweat shirt, and they're both very nice!
Superman
Glitter Shield T-Shirt
Superman
T-Shirt
L&C Trading
Cards, Books, Comics, and TV Guides. This page has all sorts of fun L&C
merchandise!
* Lois &
Clark Soundtrack. You don't have to order this on-line. It can be found in
music stores, but many FOLCs have had trouble finding it. When I ordered it, it
came in four weeks.
BarnesandNoble@aol. This
is for AOL users. I think the only L&C book they sell is the romance novel,
by author C.J. Cherryh.
* Rick's Movie
Posters. This is Rick's web page. There you will find an order form for
requesting a free catalog. In the comments section, ask for the regular catalog
and the star photos catalog, because that's the catalog with the L&C
stuff. You can even ask for them to rush you the catalog. If it doesn't come in
four weeks, ask for one again. The catalog (the one I have, anyway) features 2
L&C posters ("Have You Been To Metropolis Lately?" and an abc promo pic),
and about 12 8x10 pictures of Clark/Superman and Lois.
That's all for
now, FoLCs! Thanks to all the FOLCs who helped by sending us links!
:)
