Who Will Be The Next "Victim"?
This month's victim is Maggie! If you would like to be a victim E-mail me at Mommy31420@aol.com

Name: My "real", legal name is Margarita Maria Lara Sabalones Lopez, can you see why I reduced it all to the two simple syllables of Ma-ggie!?!? ;-) It is cool however, that although my mom picked Lara for Dr. Shivago, it's
Clark's Kryptonian mom's name. This Superman obsession was just meant to be!! :)

E-mail adress: maggie13@bellsouth.net

Birthday/ age: August 13/just turned 25!! (I'm a leo, just like Dean :)

Favorite L&C episode: Oh, geez, just One!?!?! If I can pick only One, I pick the Pilot, because we wouldn't have any of the rest without it. [But, if I could cheat and pick a few, I would say: SoulMates, AKAS, Brutal Youth, Ordinary People, all the Tempus ones...oooohhh definitley can't pick just one!!!]

Live in: Miami, Florida

Music preferences: Amy Grant #1Fave, and since I'm from Miami, of course I love Gloria (its funny because we don't even say Estefan. In Miami, you say Gloria, people know who you are talking about!) OK will try to be brief: Beth Nielsen Chapman, Mariah Carey, Stephen Curtis Chapman, Shakira (Colombia), Mana (Mexico) and the L&C soundtrack ofcourse, just got it last week :)

Favorite t.v. shows: 7th Heaven, Friends, JAG, Oh!, and this really neat show with these two reporters and one of them wears this really cool Blue and Red outfit and flies, ever heard of it!?!? :)

Favorite movie: too many! but here are a few: Singing in the Rain (Gene Kelly, my hero!), The Shop Around the Corner (Jimmy Stewart, just lovely!), When Harry met Sally, Sabrina--the old one And the new one, the Star Wars saga, Regarding Henry.......

Started watching L&C (when?): The pilot boys and girls, I had a feeling about this one! However, I must confess that as I know watch TNT (religiously) there were a few episodes I missed the first time around, so like NBC says, it's new to me. Can I just tell you that there is nothing and I mean nothing, (this includes chocolate, pizza, and the Titanic) like discovering an episode of L&C I haven't seen! Heaven -- Kryptonian Heaven I tell you!

Favorite color: Red

Describe Dean in 3 words: Sweet, Strong, Beautiful
The best thing about Lois and Clark is: The way you feel after watching a show. So good. :)

Maggie's Column
By Maggie (Maggie13@bellsouth.net)

Hi Everyone :)

Well, I am slowly but surely becoming a little QuoteMaster, kind of like
Zen, only more fun! ;-) Anyway, in honor of this Titanical Edition, I
started to think of the similarities between Rose and Jack and Lois and
Clark (<---now, there's an interesting episode! hmm, HG Wells takes
Superman back in time....to a ship on the verge of sinking...an intrepid
stowaway named Lois goes along for the ride....lives are saved...love is in
the air...). Ok, as I was saying, besides their SoulMate kind of love,
where I see these four paths intertwine is when they have to say good bye.
Jack puts Rose's life before his own, and Clark puts saving New Krypton
before his love for Lois. Read these two quotes and tell me if they
couldn't easily have been said by either couple:

You must do me this honor... promise me you will survive... that you will
never give up... no matter what happens... no matter how hopeless...
promise me now, and never let go of that promise. I promise.

If you can return, you will.
You have so much faith in me.
Oh, well, that's all I have.
I think that's what's keeping me standing here,
'cause when I let myself imagine that tomorrow without you, I start to
shake.

You see, the pain of saying goodbye and the strength of their love is the
same. Perhaps that is why we are so enchanted by both stories. The power
of love is always inspiring. Let's not even mention how lovable Dean and
Leo are! Ok, well, in my estimation, they are quite easy to become
enamoured of, don't you think? And both of their characters are heroes,
putting the lives and safety of others before their own. Yes, quite
lovable indeed.

Here is another moment that could easily have been shared by either couple:

I will keep this as safe as I keep my love for you.... I have loved you
from the beginning. And I'll love you 'til the end. In my heart, I am your
husband.
And I'm your wife. Always.

So as you go about your Titanical day today, ponder this, Clark had to
travel all the way from New Krypton to find his heart. Jack won a ticket
in a poker game to meet his. Through time and space, soulmates will
always find their way to each other......

Titanic Musical Trivia

Did you know that Michael W. Smith wrote a song for the Titanic? On his
new CD "Live the Life" he includes a song titled "In my arms again"
inspired by and written for the movie.

In My Arms Again

It was written in the stars/On the pages of my heart/Oh, that someday I
would find the love I feel for you tonight/On the ocean of our dreams/Like
a prayer you came to me/And the longing that had been found its ending
in your eyes and I am missing you tonight/I really want to see you/I
really want to touch you/If only I could hold you/In my arms again/I really
want to reach you/Forever to be with you/If only I could hold you/In my
arms again/Across the waves, across the sea/Separating you from me/Here's a
promise and it's mine/I will love you for all time/I'm wishing you were
here tonight

The Diva Factor
By Karen (LadyFOLC@aol.com)

Leo, Take Me Away!

Color me giddy. Color me downright freaking ecstatic, even. I am eagerly awaiting the upcoming day next week when I will have my very own copy of Titanic. Not that I don't have one already - but the one I have now is a rare yet fuzzy bootleg - copied from one of the Academy member's tapes - in a friend-of-a-friend, "don't tell anyone how you got this", secretive kind of deal. Very hush-hush. And frankly, one of the biggest reasons I am looking forward to having my own nice, clean copy is the solace it will provide after the week I've had - shoot, after the night I've had.

After a week of college registration problems, I decided to come up to Rhode Island to surprise on of my best friends, and to visit my other friends here in Providence. Mind you, all my friend here are of the opposite sex, and everytime I come here or talk to them, I am met with a constant barrage of compliments, requests to move up here, marriage proposals. It gets tiresome.

No, I'm lying, I love it. I want to move up here and live off of this attention from the opposite sex as if it were food - for I am a starved woman after "George". Unfortunately, one of the people I am staying up here with is said "George". And I keep forgetting that I am supposed to be an aloof, stunningly gorgeous ice queen around him so he will feel awful about breaking my heart and coming running back with open arms only to be met with a "Sorry - lost your chance." At least, that's the way it goes when I fantasize about it.

And it better happen to - after I took a long, back-breaking five hour trip to be up here.
The only good part of the trip was on the way out of Manhattan, when we drove up Madison Avenue and passed all of the designer evening wear on display in those beautiful department store windows, and I achieved the equivalent of nirvana for the practical diva. But after that, there were these two graduate students - apparantly from Barbie University - who were covering a range of topics from the meaning of life to the Bible to Dunkin Donuts and the evolution of fast food. All of which they completely missed the point on and misused large voabulary words left and right. Then, a baby up in front started screaming its head off, and one of the students had the nerve to yell at the mother. At which point I turned around and gave him a verbal beating, the likes of which he'll never recover - in my mind, at least.

So is it any wonder I am physically and mentally stressed? THe most important reason for which is the constant ringing of such phrases as "Karen, I want to find a girl JUST LIKE you!" or "I'm really not ready for a relationship right now, can't we just keep things the way they are?" or even the dreaded "Let's just be friends for a while." I desperately need to watch Jack and Rose who have an intense yet deeply romantic relationship - and I also need to confirm the fact that Jack never tells Rose "I think you're great, but I think I need to spend some time with my old girlfriend right now."

Titanic Mania!

Here are twenty quotes from Lois & Clark and Titanic. What you have to do is tell me *which* one it's from...L&C or Titanic? Also, you must tell me who said the quote! The first person to get the most right will get 100 superdollars and a cassette tape of at least *seven* (maybe more) different versions of "My Heart Will Go On" (taped off the radio). So if you're sick of the song, don't enter this contest! Oh yes, and the next 5 people who get the most right will get 20 superdollars each. And if you don't know what superdollars are, go back up to the beginning of this newsletter and read the announcements!!

1) "That's what everybody says, but...with all due respect, Miss, I'm not the one hanging off the back of a ship here.
2) "Thank you for your analysis, Dr. Freud."
3) "I love him so much, and he is so dumb!"
4) "You're still my best girl, Cora."
5) "Freud, who is he? Is he a passenger?"
6) "Is that a pig?"
7) "Do you make any money with your drawings?"
8) "Don't presume to tell me what I will and will not do, you don't know me!"
9) "How long can you hold your breath?"
10) "Now, you moron!"
11) "Turn that up, Dear."
12) "So...d'you wanna go to a real party?"
13) "I said nine, I thought you'd be naked...mmm, ready."
14) "Over on the bed...uh, the couch."
15) "The last thing I need is another picture of me looking like a porcelain doll."
16) "I want you to know that I love you. And you're not alone anymore."
17) "I go to America!"
18) "Give me the rats! Give me the rats!"
19) "The best I've seen, Ma'am. Hardly any rats."
20) "Nice rat."

So, do you think you can do it? Have fun with this...and good luck! Send your answers to: lovelc@aol.com! Remember to tell me which show/movie it's from and who said the quote. And I need their actual name, not just "uhh...that one guy with the hair said the quote." :)
