Welcome
Hi everyone! Welcome to all the new members! I hope you
enjoyed the Lois & Clark Tribute Special Edition newsletter! There were a
couple of mistakes though.
1) In the episode guide, I left out the
episode "Witness"! It should go between the episodes "All Shook Up" and
"Illusions of Granduer". Here is a decription for it.
*Witness--After
Lois witnesses a murder, Clark decides he has to protect her.
2) I also
ran the 3rd season and 4th season episodes together. The third season should end
with the episode "Big Girls Don't Fly" and the 4th season should start with
"Lord of the Flys".
Hope this helps! And I sure hope it doesn't confuse
anyone *too* much

Maggie's Column!
by Maggie (Maggie13@bellsouth.net)
Hello, my fellow
FoLCies. Welcome back to my fanfiction shrine. Today I
shall reminisce about
one of my favorite fics, Dimensions of Loving
by Chris Mulder. This story is
the continuation of a beautiful saga that
begins with Love Beyond All
Measure. It starts with a Bang.
Lois realizes Clark is Superman. Then it
gets even better. I know
you are wondering, how is that possible? But it
is...
This story is jam-packed with goodies: Lex Luthor, Kryptonite,
kidnapping,
Revelation, Romance. However, my favorite moments are the subtle
quiet
ones. Lois and Clark doing the groceries, for example, reminds me that
you
can do the simplest, dumbest thing, but if you are doing it with
someone
you love, it can be a special treat. I once went with my best friend
to
have her car's oil changed. As we sat in the waiting room of the
garage,
we chatted, laughed, made plans for our day and just enjoyed
ourselves
thoroughly. Haven't we all had moments like that?
Today's
Classic Quote comes from one of those little moments, that when
weaved
together, make the fabric of our lives strong, vibrant and
beautiful.
Lois watches Clark sleeping and ponders:
"You could be anywhere
in the world right now, you could be doing anything
in the world right now.
Yet you're here, with me, in this little
apartment, on a cold, rainy Tuesday
and all you wanted to do was to watch
a basketball game and eat some
pizza.....You are so amazing, Clark.
You don't even know that, do you? You
don't know just how amazing you are."
I think one of the reasons, we are
all so deeply moved by the 90s version
of Superman that Lois & Clark
presents us with is that this SuperHero is
not some Icon who lives in
Fortress of Solitude, far removed from the rest
of the world he inhabits. Our
Superman, not only fights for Truth and
Justice, he is trying to find his
place in this world, among his peers. He
longs for the simple pleasures of
life many of us take for granted.
Family, friends, basketball games.
This story is longer than the ones we've covered before, but well worth
the
time. One of the other major points in the story is how Lois cares
for
Clark, when he needs help. A strange form of Kryptonite weakens him and
it
is truly beautiful to see her take care of him and help him
recuperate,
since usually it's Clark doing the saving.
Lois and
Clark's relationship develops as the story unfolds, and we get to
see
different sides of their characters -- Lois trying to control her
impulse to
bolt whenever she can't handle something and Clark learning he
can't just go
through life constantly protecting her, from the truth, from
bad news or bad
guys or whatever. In any relationship, there are always
those periods of
adjustment where you are kind of learning a new language
which is "us"
instead of "you" and "me". Chris Mulder captured that
perfectly.
To
quote, our Column Goddess, the Diva, I definitely could not
recommend this
story more, if I were twins! ;o) Now class, recite after
me,
Don't just
Re-live the Adventure, Read It!

An Interview With A FOLC
By Jodie (Loisiana@aol.com)
What is
your name? Jodie
What is your favorite L&C episode? We Have A Lot To
Talk About
What is the funniest episode? Pheromone, My Lovely and
Season's Greedings
What is the most romantic moment of L&C? there's
so many....the last ten minutes of Big Girls Don't Fly stands out right now
because I watched it recently, it's the only thing on tv to ever make me cry.
What is the most exciting moment of L&C? Right after those two
unforgettable quotes "Duh! Clark Kent *is* Superman!" and "Who's asking, Clark
or Superman?"
What are some of your best memories of L&C? The summer
after And The Answer Is..., wondering all summer if she would say yes and if he
would tell her the secret. Finding out TNT would be showing Lois & Clark
after crying all summer because the best show ever made was canceled. And coming
online and finding out I'm not the only person in the world completely obsessed
with this show!
Which haircut of Lois's do you like best? Long hair or
short? Long, especially second season, with the center part
Clark Kent
looks best when he...forgets his shirt! ;)
Which character do you think
should have appeared more often on the show (Lucy, Bill Church, Jack, Cat,
etc.??) I would have liked to see more of Lucy, but played by
Elizabeth
Barondes, not that girl from Metallo. I liked Star too, I think a few more
appearances from her would have been nice.
How often do you watch
L&C? It depends.....there are actually some days I don't get to see any at
all, but some days I watch up to 8 episodes
Why do you love Lois &
Clark? There are just so many reasons to love it. It's written so well. There is
a great combination of WAFFs and humor. There are two beautiful, talented stars.
It's a story about true love, not just seeing how fast they can get in bed
together. And it has the best fans ever! :)

What's On? TV & MOVIE NEWS
by Molly (LoveLC@aol.com)
L&C
SIGHTING!!!!
Did you watch Seventeen magazine's "Faces For Fall"
last Tuesday on the WB? The show was partially filmed on the Warner Bros. Studio
lot! Which meant there were actual sets and backdrops that were used on Lois
& Clark right there! At the beginning of the show, Joshua Jackson and
Shannen Doherty, the show's hosts, were sitting right in front of the Daily
Planet building! The Daily Planet globe isn't there anymore, but the building
is, and I recongized it right away! We also got to see other things that were
used on L&C: the gazebo, the Metropolis street backdrop, and the saloon used
in episodes like "Tempus Fugitive"! Pretty cool, huh? Well, as exciting as that
was, the Seventeen special itself was pretty neat, too. One of the people
interviewed was Denise Richards, Angela from "Season's Greedings"! She seems
really nice, not stuck-up at all. And she doesn't care too much about clothes
and all that. We also got to see Sarah Michelle Gellar on vacation, and Joshua
Jackson, Michelle Williams, James Van Der Beek, and Katie Holmes on the set of
"Dawson's Creek"!
Speaking of Katie Holmes, in the September 17 issue of
Rolling Stone, there is an interview with Katie. And I
quote:
>>"I know I grew up very naive and sheltered, but I like
that," says Holmes, who just two years ago papered her bedroom wall with posters
of Leonardo DiCaprio and Dean Cain. "I feel sad when I see kids who have
experienced too much too young. I'm just learning myself what the real world is
like. I'm glad I could wait this long before I had to deal with
reality."<<*
Dean Cain? Did someone say Dean Cain? Well someone
sure has good taste!
In the next edition of "What's On": TV Fall Preview!
As if you haven't read about eight fall previews already! Oh well! LOL!

Trivia Question
Last newsletter's
question was:
What are the aliases Lois & Clark use in the episode "Resurrection"
when they go to visit Big Buster Williams...AND on what currently-in-production
TV show are/were there two characters with those exact same names
The
answer is: Lois & Clark's aliases were "Angel" and "Spike". And what TV show
are/were Angel and Spike on? "Buffy The Vampire Slayer"!
The first person
to send in the correct answer was Karen! Congrats! Here are the other FOLCs that
got the answer right: SuperNean, Emily, and Mary!
This newsletter's question is:
50 superdollars to the first person who answers this question
correctly!
In which Lois & Clark episode did actress Leann Hunley
guest star? AND on what TV show did she recently play a teacher?
