The Diva Factor
by Karen (LadyFOLC@aol.com)
Attention Diva Factor Readers:
Due to
unforeseen circumstances of a broken heart and complete removal of self-respect
and dignity thanx to the greater part of the state of Rhode Island, The Diva
Factor column will not be appearing for a while. It will return to the
newsletter and The Diva Factor website at a later date - most likely when Karen
can stop listening to "All Cried Out" repeatedly and cursing the world and
herself. The website will of course still be open, and you are more than welcome
to send Karen e-mail at LadyFoLC@aol.com. Thank you.

As Seen Through Lois'
Eyes
by Rachel M.
Part
8
Ahhhhh, school. The torture that took up the brunt of my teenage life.
It followed the same pattern every year, no matter what stage I was in,
elementary, junior high, senior high, or college. First day of school: Blah,
blah, blah. The most boring day of the year, but also the most exhausting one.
Second day of school: More talk. A little of this and that, subjects we're going
to cover over the year, rules of the room, modular, IMC, whatever. I would sit
there, half asleep, listening to the teacher blab away, and feel sorry for
myself, since I had been dumb enough to stay up until midnight the night before,
the way I had done it all summer long. And after that it's a blur, especially if
you're getting up there in the grade numerals, everything moves fast when you're
at that age. Though, if I do say so myself, the boys were fighting over me
wherever I went ever since I got out of the sixth grade. Most of them were
jocks. You know the type: vulgar, rude, self-involved, etc. I hated it. Most
girls liked that kind of guy, "someone who could make them feel special." Yeah,
right. For guys like that, girls were arm decorations. Not that all guys were
like that. During my junior high years most of my good friends were guys. Some
girls jealous of the way I could hang around boys like that without being
nervous. (I should've told them if they stopped acting like air-headed bimbos
and actually started appearing like they had *some* intelligence, they could do
it too.) But what really hurt my feelings the most was when one of my guy
friends decided that being friends with a girl was not so cool after all, and
they converted to the ways of a jock. But most of them were mature enough to
understand that being friends with a girl was fun. But for those of you who
think I was turning into a guy at that time, I'm not finished yet. I had
girlfriends too, enough to insure my unchanging gender. Girls are good company
too (I should know, I am one). Those times were fun. High school and college is
a story for another day.
And there's the end of Part 8....only.....3 more
to go!
-Rachel :)

The Fanfic Side
by Rachel M. (Scardno007@aol.com)
Hi again!
Just wanted to drop by (I actually don't have a fanfic for this one). Let's hope
Molly won't kill me for taking up newsletter space. I wanted to write a column
for this issue...well, because I'm extremely bored. I'll sing a song
now!
LALALALALALALALALALALALALALALA!
There. I feel better now. Whoops, hang on.
There! (Thought I had lost it for a minute there....but you
already knew that, right?)
Sheesh. I'd better go before I do any
more damage. Hope to have a fanfic for you next time! If you have any fanfic you
want to put in the newsletter, e-mail me!
-Rachel :)

What's On?
Looking for something to do this weekend? Why not check out
a movie? Like...
"The Wizard of Oz"
!!!
Now, we probably all have
this one on tape somewhere, but it's digitally remastered! How can anyone pass
up a chance like that?
L&C Connection--There are Wizard of Oz related
quotes in "Lord of the Flys" and "The Green, Green Glow of Home"
"The
Waterboy"
Stars: Adam Sandler, Kathy Bates, and Henry Winkler
This is a
hilarious movie! It's a little weird at times, like most Adam Sandler movies
L&C connection--The coach tells Bobby (Sandler) to
"hold that thought"; Kathy Bates is in Titanic with David Warner and Mark
Lindsay Chapman, who guest-starred on L&C.
And on TV...last week's
episode of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" was great! Buffy wanted to be somebody, so
she decided to run for Homecoming Queen...making Cordelia, who was sure *she*
was bound to win, upset.
Speaking of Homecomings, on next week's
"Dawson's Creek", that's what the episode is supposed to be about! But it
doesn't look good for Dawson's parents :(
Tempus has been popping up all
over TV lately! Actor Lane Davies was most recently spotted on NBC's
"Jesse"!
