What's New?
Welcome to our first annual Turkey Day newsletter. Do you
know what the best thing about Thanksgiving is? Nope, not the food...it's all
the movies that are on TV! Check your TV Guide and make sure you get in all the
possible viewing you can. And...yeah, enjoy the food, too. :)

Hidy-ho
neighbor! (Sheesh, I gotta stop eating chocolate at 9:00 at night...) Hey! We
*finally* got a willing participant who *actually* e-mailed her fanfic to me!
It's the beginning of a new era...hopefully. Enjoy!

Notes:
After our electricity went out 3 times in one week, I ran out of
people to
write notes to and couldn't sleep in my 7th hour science
class, I decided to
take advantage of the situation and write this
little tid bit of
fanfic...
Lois Lane Kent was lying on the couch listening to the rain as
a
storm moved through Metropolis. She thought she might be able to get a
nap in before Clark came back. He was landing a plane that was on the
verge of crashing into the middle of the ocean. This, she had gotten
used to since she had known about Clark being Superman for close to a
year and a half. Just as she was drifting off, a familiar voice said
quietly, “Wake up, honey,” and then kissed her.
“Hey! Don't scare me like
that.”
“Sorry. When did this storm move in? I thought it was supposed to
pass Metropolis,” Clark said spinning into a pair of jeans and a
T-shirt.
“It didn't, though.”
“Is that a bad thing?” He sat down
beside her.
“Not really, but I...I just donut like storms.”
“Is that
all?”
“What do you mean ‘Is that all’? They can be very dangerous. It
could flood..."
“Lois?”
“...or a tornado could come and sweep our
house away...”
“Lois.”
“...or the power could go...”
“Lois,
stop.”
“OK.”
“Thank you.” Clark reached for the remote. “See, the lights
are on,
the TV’s on and...” He saw the weather warning on the TV, then saw
the
fearful look on his wife's face. “...were changing the
channel.”
“See! Look at that! Severe thunderstorm warning. I'm going to get a
flashlight.”
“No, I'm going to go get dinner ready and you're going to
stay right
where you are.” He kissed her and walked into the kitchen.
“Besides,
nothing big is going to happen, Lois.”
“Nothing big? Clark,
you are from Kansas. Land of tornadoes. You are
used to this kind of
weather. I'm not. I've never been in more than one
big storm.”
“So how
big was the storm?”
“Pretty big. Most of Metropolis's power was out.” Lois
said trying
to sound like she really knew what she was talking
about.
“That is nothing.”
“It was out for over an hour."
“Nothing,
like I said.”
“You beat it, then.”
“OK. The entire city of Smallville was
without power for exactly 37
hours 9 minutes and 4 seconds.”
“You
counted?”
“Nothing else to do.”
“Oh. Are you done yet?
“Yea. Dinner
is...” As he came out of the kitchen, everything went
dark.
“CLARK! Where
are you?”
“Right here. Stay where you are, OK?”
“OK, but where's here,
Clark?”
“Here. I'm going to turn off the lights that were on and light a
candle. Just wait,” he said from somewhere in the darkness of the living
room.
“Waiting.” Lois was actually trying to find Clark, but she had ran
into the table twice, the wall once and, by now, she had tripped and
fell on the floor.
“Lois, where's the candle?”
“It was completely
burnt down. I was going to get another one, but I
forgot. And
Clark?”
“Yes?”
“Help me up.”
“OK.” Clark walked over to where Lois had
fell on the floor and
picked her up. He then sat her back down on the couch.
“I think Superman
should take a quick fly around the area to see why the
power is out.
I'll be back soon.”
“No, stay here.”
“Lois, if I go,
Superman can help get the power on quickly.”
“Please?” she
begged.
“Why?”
“I don't want you to leave me here, alone, in the dark.”
She wasn't
too sure this would work but it was definitely worth a
try.
“Fine.” Clark sat down on the couch and put his arm around Lois.
“I'll stay right here with you.”
“You will?” she asked confused. It
wasn't like Clark to listen to
her when she said not to go save the
day.
“Yes. It's late, I'm kind of tired, and even Superman has a personal
life to attend to.”
“You better not forget it,” she giggled. “Thank you.”
“You're welcome.” He leaned over and kissed his wife. She returned
his
kiss, so on and this led to other things. As a matter of a fact,
when the
power did come back on, neither Lois or Clark realized it.
The
End
Wasn't that happy? I dunno. Please tell me how you liked it.
Thanks!

Thanks
again, Jessi, you're now ahead of the rest of these slackers...just kidding,
guys! I know that not all of you are writers, but those of you that are, get
those dusty ole keyboards out!

What's On?
The networks showing some movies this weekend with L&C
guest-stars! On Thanksgiving, "Jumanji", which co-stars Bradley Pierce
("Witness"), airs. On Friday, there's "Little Giants", which features
Elizabeth-Anne Smith ("It's A Small World After All") and Courtney Peldon
("Smart Kids"). And in the grand tradition of Turkey Day, "Home Alone" airs for
the millionth time, and I am trying to remember if there's a L&C guest-star
in there somewhere. On Sunday, see Harve Presnell (Sam Lane) in "Fargo" on
TNT.
