Happy Birthday
FC!
Yay! We made it! This club official
started just a little over a year ago :) Our first newsletter came on on January
7, 1998 (even though the date on the newsletter says January 8th--go figure that
one out! :)
So much crazy stuff has happened since then! I bet you don't
even remember half of it. I know I didn't remember a lot of it and, well, heck,
I'm supposed to be in the know, you know? But no. And so, I went to our trusty
newsletter archives, and here's just some of the stuff we've done in the last
year.
*Valentine's Day contest
*Trivia Contest (July &
August)
*Fanfic Contest (Spring 1998)
*The Halloween Short Stories Contest
(October 1998)
*Super Summer (so it was short lived, so sue me...actually,
sue AOL...) ;-)
*The first-ever chat party on June 14, 1998
*Our big
L&C Rememberance issue on September 12, 1998
*The opening of the
SuperSite
*Lots of questionettes (remember Lois's worst outfit?)
*The
SuperStore's debut
*Over a dozen FOLC Central "Victims"
*56
Newsletters...
And we started out with only 27 members! Today, we've
quintupled (is that a word?) that number. You FOLCs rock! Also, when we started
out, it was just me and GG. Now, we have a whole team of super FOLCs who help
put together each and every newsletter. :)
I want to thank our
columnists: Rachel, Karen, Jill, Maggie, Cat, and Cristin, for all the terrific
work you've done. I depend on you all so much, and you do a great job!
:)
Thanks, also, to everyone else who has contributed to the club--Erin,
Jenn, Jessi, darrnnnn I hope I'm not forgetting anyone. Thanks to everyone who
has ever responded to trivia or to a questionette, entered a contest, offered to
be a "victim", voted, visited our website, submitted fanfic, sent in sightings,
or just e-mailed me to tell me you're alive. ;-)
Thanks!!!
Molly

Maggie's Mouthful --Birthday Cake
Edition
by Maggie13@bellsouth.net
Happy Biiiiiirthdaaay to US,
Happy Birrrrrthdaaaay day to US, Haaaaappy
Biiiiiiirthday, FOLC Centraaaaal,
happy birhtdaay to Uuuuuuussss........
Hey everyone! Totally excited
about our First Anniversary, can ya tell?
While Molly blows out the Birthday
Candles, I feel like reminiscing....
when Molly was looking for helpers for
the Newsletter, she asked:
When did you become a super, maniacal,
obsessed FOLC?
To which I replied, in my Best Lois-Babble to
date:
Maniacal?!?Obssessed!?!?Moi!?!?
Just because I read a fanfic
everyday during my lunch hour, and my computer
is programmed with not one but
two Superdesktop themes to choose from, and
I actually own a computer in the
first place because when I found the
Archive in the computer at work I
realized, one hour a day is just not
enough! Just because, I own the
soundtrack, bought the books, made a
collage of my favorite pics, just
because I downloaded an autographed
picture of Teri and Dean from Ebay and
printed it and framed it and its the
only picture currently on my desk
besides my beloved mommy, just because, I
think a re-run of L&C is better
than most of what's on the air now.....
Does Not mean I am Maniacal, Obsessed
etc. I could be suffering from an
acute case of Superman fixation combined
with LCWS, tinged with a bit of
Dean Worship, the doctors just aren't
sure........They have yet to come up
with a scientific description of my
ailment not to mention the fact they
believe its highly unlikely I will ever
recover fully....They say all we
can do is wait and see....Watch a few more
episodes, visit some websites,
read a fanfic and relax, they are sure,
however, that no major damage will
be done to my immune system due to this
affliction and repeated doses of
Dean actually seem to make my heart flutter
healthily :) :) :)
And I had so much fun answering that question, a
columnist was born.
So I have all of you to thank for my favorite hobby,
besides making up new
DeanWords
ofcourse, which is loads of fun! (i.e. How
was the Birthday Cake?
Deanlicious!
How would you describe Season 6?
Deantacular!..........you get the
idea.........
Thanks to all of
you for being a part of our FOLC Central family.
Light a candle, eat some
cake, read a fanfic and stay tuned because we have
lots of Super surprises in
store for you this year!

The Obsession
Connection
Have you heard that Sarah
McLachlan song, "Angel"? I really like that song. So, you're thinking, big deal.
She likes a song, so what? I say it is important, so there. Now, I'm not big on
angels. No offense, but I wouldn't watch Touched By An Angel if I was paid to.
But when it comes to Angel, and I mean THE Angel, the
too-gorgeous-hunk-of-a-vampire (I would say "man", but I call em as I see em) on
"Buffy", I am totally in love. My cousin Sarah visited a few weeks ago, and we
went to the Chinese place to get crab puffs, and "Angel" (the song) came on the
radio. I asked Sarah if she liked the song, she said yes. I told her it reminded
me of you-know-who, and she was like "Huh?", and *I* said...all you have to do
is change the lyrics from "In the arms of the angel" to "In the arms of Angel"
and you've got a yummola mental image going on. Sarah agreed. She's got great
taste.
I had a LCWS (Lois & Clark Withdrawal Syndrome) attack last
night. I went mental. More mental than usual, and that's a lot of mentalness.
Between eating spaghetti-Os and dubbing Buffy episodes....and working on my new
L&C page....and going to school....and to work....making up Dean songs
(ahem)....and then LAST night I had a Buffy dream....well, let's just say, I
haven't had much time to watch L&C. I'm still watching it, of course. Just
not much lately, and when I say lately, I mean today and yesterday and half of
last Monday. I watched "The Phoenix". I fast-forwarded through the
Lex-goes-bald-oh-gee-darn parts. I savored the oh-my-gosh-it's-Dean parts, and
then I went into my room and listened to the tape of L&C songs Jenn
oh-so-graciously dubbed for me.
And then last night, I went freakazoid,
and I have witnesses, who I may have to pay to keep quiet, seeing as how they
write columns for this newsletter. It is not my fault I had bitter anger and
hatred of abc bottled up inside of me. Sometime's a girl has just got to
scream.
Aaaaaaaaaauuuuuuuugggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
There,
I screamed. Hey, that was fun! I should really do that again
sometime...
But, in the end, I've got my Dean posters, and my books, and
my T-shirt, and about 63% of my sanity, so I'm OK. Are you OK? I'm fine, but I
really could use some more chocolate.
