Random Thoughts

I'm in an extremely good mood. No, not just because the Broncos won against the Jets and are going to play against the Falcons in the Super Bowl, but also because I finally met this guy I had been talking to through e-mails, IMs, that sort of thing, and found out that he wants to see me again.

What does this have to do with Lois and Clark, you may ask? Absolutely nothing.

I just finished watching "Season's Greedings" and am wondering why I never put it on my "Fav. Lois and Clark Eps" list. I'm still laughing, to be honest. Those Atomic Space Rats just crack me up! And the antics of Lois, Clark, Jimmy, and Perry don't help, either.
Picture this: Perry sitting on the couch with three Atomic Space Rats in his arms, the collar on his shirt turned up, laughing his head off. We all remember that scene...perhaps too well. Then, Clark and Jimmy having a race on their swivel chairs....Lois playing hop-scotch on the floor with her set of keys....Clark sucking all the M&Ms out of the foot-and-a-half long container like a vacuum cleaner...Martha pulling Clark by the ear into the conference room. I just can't get over it!
And, of course, when Clark shows up at Lois' door for Christmas dinner...he gives her the star that *supposedly* came from the sky (i'm not trying to be cynical here...), she takes it over to her tree, and BAM! I'm hit with a sudden sense of deja vu. I sat there picturing Lois actually dropping the poor, seemingly man-made star...picturing her screaming, "Oh, my God!" and Clark picking the remains of the star off of the floor with a small grin on his face. Meanwhile, Lois is standing the corner, burying her face in her hands, commenting on how Superman will now hate her and never speak to her again. It seems sometimes that Mystery Science Theater 3000 has moved permanently into my house, and no matter what the TV show or movie is, there's always going to be something funny about that just seems to make you want to mock it mercilessly. Or maybe it's just me....

I found that Lois and Clark is a surprisingly good show to do the Mystery Science Theater routine with. It's too bad we don't get the SF channel....

The Obsession Connection
by Molly

Today I thought I'd keep you updated on my happenings. Sort of like a sequel to all of my previous columns. So here I go.

"Every Night In My Dreams" (November 23, 1998 column)
I still have L&C dreams from time to time, but lately I've been having Buffy dreams. Buffy dreams can get pretty wild and crazy, but I'm not yet inspired to start writing Buffy fanfic. Recently, however, I wrote a L&C fanfic. It's called Krazyworld. And it's coming soon to this newsletter!

"Dean XOXO" (December 5, 1998 column)
Well, since I wrote that column, I've seen "Fantasy Island" and "Tracked" (Dogboys), and my love for Dean has septupled. The man is hot, that's all I need to say.

"Buffy and Superman" (December 21, 1998 column)
Last night on Buffy, they mentioned Kryptonite. It was so funny! Xander and Oz got into this discussion about what colors of Kryptonite do what to Superman. And then, on America's Funniest Home Videos today, Bob Saget mentioned Kryptonite. Which reminds me LOL. Remember when Dean Cain was on American Gladiators, and the woman who was interviewing him asked him if he was all pumped up? And had had had his Kryptonite for breakfast that morning? ROFL! Yeah, okay, lady. Dean was so polite though. He didn't tell the woman what I was thinking. Instead, he just told her that if he'd had Kryptonite for breakfast, he probably wouldn't be in very good shape right then. Hello, duh! Some people need to read their comics. Some people need to know that Kryptonite and Corn Flakes are just NOT the same...

"Picture Perfect" (December 29, 1998 column)
And so the saga continues. Someone sent me another autographed picture of Jamie Denton. Now, this is really starting to irritate me. Oh, don't get me wrong, I love getting these packages, and Jamie Denton rocks the socks. However, I still don't know who's sending them to me. So I decided to play detective. Sometimes, when you're trying to solve a mystery, you've got to ask yourself some questions and gather the facts. So that's what I did.

Question: who is sending me the pictures?
Answer: I don't know
Fact: The envelopes are postmarked in California
Question: Who do I know in California?
Answer: About four people.
Question: Do any of them know I like Pretender?
Answer: I don't think so.
A Kind Of A Thought...maybe Jamie Denton himself is sending them. Maybe he is in this club, and knows me and my undying obsession for his show, and maybe...
Question: Oh, but wait...how did he get my address?
Answer: That's simple, I give my address away to every cute guy who asks for it.
Fact: I have no idea what's going on, and it's driving me crazy.

"Adios 1998" (December 31, 1998 column)
1999 sucks. I apologize for being so blunt, but 1999 sucks. The only good thing is, my classes are better than they were last term. The bad news? Okay, let's see...first of all, my appetite has increased and I just hate it when that happens. Last year, I got by on three meals a day, and I was never hungry. These days, I'm constantly hungry. Like, "seven meals a day and that's just a minimum" hungry. So I have to excercise a lot, and I hate excercising in the winter. It is just plain wrong. Worse yet, I am getting all 4 wisdom teeth out on February 5th. You want to know something disgusting? Only 1 of my wisdom teeth is actually in. The other 3 aren't even there, yet somehow they're still going to extract them. Lucky me. I just hope the tooth fairy is in a generous mood!!!

"Y2K" (January 3, 1999)
I'm not freaked out about the new millenium. Actually, if you forget about the whole computer bug thing for a moment and think about the actual new millenium...I was reading this article that debates when the new millenium actually starts. And I don't mean, does it start on January 1, 2000 or January 1, 2001? Actually, according to some experts, our entire calendar is screwed up and the real year 2000 should have happened sometime around the time Lois & Clark premiered...ya don't say?

So, I wonder if "Best Men" will actually show its face in the United States this year? I ordered a poster from Rick's Movie Graphics. It was $18. I can afford $18 but what I couldn't afford was wall space. I have 3 L&C posters, two Dawson's Creek posters, 2 Buffy posters, and posters for Titanic, The Man In The Iron Mask, Fools Rush In, Friends, Pocahontas, and The Ice Storm. And my room is not all that big! Because aside from the posters, I have 5 wall calendars, a ton of pinups from magazines, and my L&C shrine. So when I ordered the Best Men poster AND a Buffy poster from Rick's last week, I decided to rearrange my room to accomodate all these posters.

My fans came over on Monday. They think Dean is cute. They saw my posters and drooled. Well, the 13-year-old did. The 8-year-old just wanted to play with my Kryptonite slime.

That's about it. I have lots more to say, but this column is already long enough as it is!! As Lois says in "Individual Responsiblity"..."Ciao!"
