What's New?

Hi, FOLCs! Do you want to win a cool Valentine's Day package, full of L&C goodies and candy? Just enter the 2nd Annual V-Day contest. All you have to do is enter. And how do you do that? Just e-mail lovelc@aol.com with the word "contest" in the headline. I'll draw a name of one winner on February 1st, so I can actually get it to you in time for V-Day this year. And this contest isn't just for USA-ers. If you live in Canada, Australia, England, Brazil, WHATEVER...as long as you have a mail box, I can send you the package. So enter soon!!

"Since You've Been Gone" is coming to video on February 16th. I'm not sure if it's to rent or to buy, though. I would guess it's just to rent for now. SYBG was a TV movie that starred Teri Hatcher, David Schwimmer, and Lara Flynn Boyle, and it's all about a high school reunion where some very wacky things happen to all the characters! I thought it was an OK movie...not great or anything, but it did have its funny moments. So if you'd like to see Teri, rent this movie!

I am most definetly a country music junkie. Maybe this should be a column on music rather than just whatever I feel like writing about... nah. Anyway, today I want to talk about music. Aha, but music that reminds me of Lois and Clark. So there. :o)

Currently, I am listening to "How Was I To Know" by John Michael Montgomery which SO reminds me of L&C. Lemme give y'all some lyrics:

"You took my hand and led me out the door
We talked and we laughed
'Bout all the times before
When two lonely people so much in love
Passed like ships in the night"

See? Maybe I am crazy, but that makes me think L&C.

Here's another one. How Do I Get There by Deana Carter. Hmm, I should name mine and Dean's daughter Deana... Anyway, the song...

"We've always been the best of friends
No secrets and no demands
But suddenly from somewhere out of the blue
I see a different light around you
One thing I haven't told you
I just want to hold you
And never let you go"

Now you can't tell me that that doesn't make you think L&C!!! :o)

Well, I could name a zillion more songs that remind me of L&C. Hey, know how Maggie is quote girl??? (Ahem, where is your column lately, Mags? ) Well, I am song girl. :o) If you know of any country songs
that SO resemble L&C, feel free to email me and let me know. :o)

You Figure It Out!

Wow, we have gotten some hilarious responses to the questions! Keep sending them! Here are the questions again. For those of you who missed it last time, the object is to make up an answer to the question--the answer should be funny, but carefully thought out. They don't have to make complete sense, but a little sense would be nice. Make it wacky, make it cute...and you can earn 55 superdollars! LoveLC@aol.com

QUESTIONS (there are two this week. You can answer either one, or both)

#1: If Superman were to become a vampire, would he still have his powers?

#2: Whatever happened to Lois's double, from "Madame Ex"?

Dawson's Creek is starting to not make much sense. Buffy is excellent, as usual. 7th Heaven's the same, Felicity's still funny, and Charmed is still...charming. But now there's a new show on the WB, and surprise! It's about teenagers. Zoe, Duncan, Jack, and Jane is a sitcom about four teenagers living in New York. And I actually like it!

Our local TV critic (no comment) said that ZDJ&J was not funny at all. This is also the same guy that said "Friends" would never last more than a season. Can you trust the man? No, I can't. So I won't. After watching the first episode of ZDJ&J, I realized that maybe you just have to be a teen to enjoy this show, but then I thought, THAT'S not true, because I would have thought the same thing about Dawson's Creek, but my mom likes that show, and she's forty-something. My seventy-something grandmother loves Walker, Texas Ranger. That whole "you have to be the same age as the characters in the show to like the show" is a lie. How many FOLCs are half the age, or even twice the age of Lois & Clark? So that makes no sense.

ZDJ&J reminds me of kind of cross between Friends and Seinfeld. The characters, the crazy plotlines, the sometimes insane humor... Now, I've only seen the pilot, but episode two airs tonight (9pm on the WB), and I'm going to watch it, and cross my fingers and hope that it's a good episode. Because more than anything, I want to prove our local TV critic wrong ;-) Which shouldn't be too hard!!

The Obsession Connection

Dear FOLCs,
I have decided to take a break from my usual babblefest of meaningless...well, babble. For the next few newsletters, I'll be posting this fanfic that I wrote. It's called "Krazyworld", and I think the name says it all! LOL :) So be sure to read this column in every newsletter, so that you get the whole story. Because if you don't get the whole story, the story might not make any sense (NOT that it would have, anyway...) Here is is!

Note: This is just a piece of fluff...a long piece of fluff...that I wrote because I wanted to write something where Lois and Clark just have fun together. This story takes place in the early second season, probably right after "Operation: Blackout". Lois and Clark are still just friends, but Clark would like to be more, and Lois doesn't know what she wants! Thanks to Jenn, for making me finish this. Hope you enjoy it!

Krazyworld

"Lois, I was wondering--"

"Yes?" Lois said, shuffling through a stack of papers. Only when Clark didn't answer right away did she glance up at him. "Did you want something?"

"Yes, actually," Clark said nervously. This wasn't going to be easy. He adjusted his tie a few times, and prayed he didn't have any food stuck in his teeth.

"Clark, if you've got something to say, say it," Lois said, sounding impatient.

"Okay. Lois--I was wondering. Um, do you want to go to a movie with me?"

Her eyebrows shot up. "Sure," she said, trying to hide a smile, as she quickly turned back to the papers she was sorting. She hoped Clark wouldn't notice the smile.

"You do?" Clark could hardly believe it.

She turned back to him, the smile suppressed, and tried to act cool. "Sure, Clark. You and I are friends. We're allowed to go to the Cineplex every once in awhile. Well, as long as you're paying," she added, jokingly.

"Okay," Clark agreed. "But, Lois--I wasn't. I mean, I didn't really want us to go as--as friends. I was kind of hoping this could be like, like more of a date."

"Clark, you're beginning to stutter," Lois said.

"Sorry!"

"No, it's okay!" Lois assured him. She had to feel sorry for Clark--the poor guy was obviously becoming something of a major wreck. "Now, Clark, listen to me. I'd love to go to the movies with you. And if you want to go as 'more than friends', that's okay, too. But this is not a date."

"Well...what's the difference?" Clark was confused.

"When two people go to the movies as 'just friends', they go to an action movie. When two people go as 'more than friends', they go to a romantic comedy."

Clark nodded. "Go on."

Lois continued. "And when two people go to the movies on a date, it really doesn't matter what they see, because they only care about one thing and one thing only: making out in the back of the theater." Lois smiled, proud of her movie-viewer analysis.

"That's very insightful, Lois," Clark said.

"Thank you, Clark. So, when are we going to the movies as 'more than friends'?"

"How about tomorrow night?" Clark suggested.

"Fine," she said, smiling. "Now we'd better get back to work before Perry explodes. Not that it wouldn't be fun to watch, but think of the mess! It wouldn't be pretty."

"Okay," Clark grinned, and high-tailed it back to his desk, just seconds before Perry bellowed: "Lane! Kent! In my office! Now!"

"Uh-oh, we're in trouble," Clark muttered. He snuck a glance at Lois, who didn't look at all worried about the possible wrath that Perry had in store for them.

"Sit down," Perry ordered, and Clark and Lois sat.

"What's this about, Perry?" Lois asked eagerly. "Is there a scandal? A murder? I need a good story," she added.

Perry shook his head. "I have something even better."

"Ooooh, what is it?"

"Some time off."

Lois just sat there. "You wanna run that by me again?"

Okay, that's all for now, FOLCs, but stay tuned, there's a lot more fanfic where that came from!
