Random Thoughts
Happy Birthday to Kansas! Happy Birthday to Kansas! Happy
Birthday dear
Kansas! Hapy Birthday to you!!! Today (Jan 29) is Kansas's
birthday.
School was really boring. At the exact time I wrote the following,
I
was in my 7th hour science class...
Life is boring.There's nothing to
do. I could look at the Periodic Table
and laugh at the element Krypton, but
that would disrupt the class from
their cell biology test. At home the
Primestar dude messed up the
computer, we discovered my TV isn't getting a
signal and it's late first
season before Lex proposes to Lois on TNT. I told
you life is boring. In
Social Studies, we are studiing the late 1700's and
early 1800's,
specifically when Jefferson bought Louisiana from France, then
sent out
an expedition to find out what he just bought. That expedition was
called the Lewis and Clark Expedition. And do you know what Lewis's
first name was? Meriwether, as in the Meriwether Journalistic Awards
from 'The Foundling'. I'm thinking this was all a set up. And I'm the
one to find it, not Lisa (who I know will be reading this). I think it's
entirely possible that Jerry Seigel and Joe Shuster were studing this in
school when they created Superman! Whoa, I've got to lay off the
association thing for a while! I think I'll laugh at that Periodic Table
now... Bye!!!

Okay, so these
Kerth awards are a big deal! Well, I can imagine
how confused some of you
might be. What fic should you nominate? Which
authors should you read? Where
the heck do you start? Well, I have
decided to help the less fortunate. Yes,
I know how noble I am.
Anyway, I am going to (during the next three weeks
that nominations are
being taken) tell y'all about some of *MY* favorite fics
this year.
Of course, my column is solely my creation and does NOT
reflect
the opinions of anyone affiliated with FC (though I think Molly
might
appreciate this column's view
about the fanfic of a girl named Molly.
Molly's fics can be
found on the archive under the name... well,
"Perfectly Not Normal". First I would
like to discuss "Happy (Weird)
Birthday, Clark".
This story is weird! It
is also hilarious. :o) I mean, it starts
out talking about Clark's habit of
LICKING Lois! That grabs the reader's
attention. :o) Here, read a sentence
from it: "I thought all women liked
to be licked. What's wrong with you?"
Doesn't that make you crack up???
See, Molly's fic is hilarious. It's a great
story that starts weird, ends
weird, and is pretty darn weird inbetween. Just
so ya know,
will be doing this for all the stories I suggest) this
story is eligible
in the following categories for this year's Kerths: Best
Comedy (where I
think it has the best chance), Best Vignette/ Short Story,
Best New
Author (for Molly, not the story ;o)), and Best Overall Fanfic
(a
category ANY fic fits in
Molly's other story, "Perfectly Not
Normal", is written in a
first person point if view about Lois and Clark's
daughter. I thought
Molly did a good job. :o) This story is eligible in the
following
categories: Best Vignette/Short Story, Best New Author (because,
after
all, you're only NEW once
That is my
column for today. :o) So, what are you waiting for? Go
read those fics!
They're by our EDITOR for heaven sake! Get a move on!
Later, FoLCs. :o)
