Color Me Cristin -- Kerth Nomination Reactions
By: Cristin
CKandLL4ever@Juno.com

Well, the nominees are announced. I hate to say it, but I am way dissapointed with the choices. I mean, the stories that I've read of them are good (some great). They're just not... what's the word I'm looking for.. Kerthworthy. Some of the stories are great and very deserving of a Kerth or two... or five.. or ten... or thirty. You get the point. There were even a few stories that I had forgotten about, ones I really liked. So that was cool. Overall though, I've read some that I thought were much more deserving. Of course not everyone thinks like me (suprisingly enough ). In any case, I'll choose what I like best of the ones nominated.

Molly, our editor in chief, our leader, oh great insane one , was nominated for a Kerth! Her story "Perfectly Not Normal" was nominated in the category of Next Generation. Hers is the shortest fic in this category, the only G rated one, and quite possibly the best one. In any case, our editor was nominated.

Also, in the category of best round robin, Cooking With The Kents, the one and only Teen Round Robin was nominated! This RR was written on by teen FoLCs AlienDove, Em-bop, Carrielu, Beppo, MuffySlay (that would be our editor in chief ), and SUPERfan (that would be me ). It was organized by SUPERfan (me again ) and SuperMags (Maggie, of Maggie's Mouthful fame). So vote for it.

After I read some nominees, I will get to my reccomendations for each category. So be expecting that. Until next time, remember, the Teen RR rocks.

The Obsession Connection

My evil little brother has decided to make my life miserable. He's going to come down here any second and make me get off the computer, I just know it! So I'd better type this column fast. :) This week has been a good week. First of all, the younger man, the 15-year-old cutie, my little muffin, Ryan Merriman, is featured in TV Guide this week. That's enough to put a smile on my face for a few days, but seriously, why would I love a 15-year-old TV star? I mean, all my life I've been lusting after older male TV stars...Dean, David Boreanaz...oh, and Mel Gibson. That is, until I found out he had a daugter my age. So ew, that fantasy is gone. Out the window. Sent to one of those South American countries. Adios! You get the picture.

I have a Superman cookie cutter. Actually, it's just shaped like a pentagon, but if you use your imagination...it's a Superman cookie cutter. One Christmas, I used red and yellow frosting and attempted to make S-designs on those cookies. They ended up looking more like maps of Krypton than anything Superman would wear. But hey, I tried!

The Girl Scout cookies have come! We bought three boxes. My mom hid them somewhere. I think she knows that if she didn't hide them, they'd be gone within 24 hours. I hate that she knows me so well! Then again, if she knows me so well, why can't she accept the fact that I *like* my room in the state it's in...cluttered! (She calls it "messy"...but I swear, it's just...cluttered!)

But enough about me. How 'bout those Kerth Awards, huh? Kudos to Erin and Kathy and Pam and Genevieve, and everyone who is putting those together. I remember how hard it was to tally up the votes for the FOLC Faves, and we didn't even have a ceremony! Oooh, I'm getting tired just thinking about it!

Well, if you want to see the cute-o Ryan Merriman, watch "The Pretender" this week, because he is going to have a big role in Saturday's episode. It airs at 9pm PST on NBC, which is channel 8 in north-western Oregon ;) And if you watch it, e-mail me and tell me what you thought, OK? :) Don't worry, I won't put your comments in the newsletter or anything. Or will I? Oh, I love being evil.
